Mechatronics Summer School Course Materials
Japan-USA-Vietnam Summer School
August 5-10, 2002 - Danang, Vietnam
Modelling, Simulation,
Analysis and Design
of
Mechatronic Systems
Dr. James H. Taylor
Scope of the summer school
Mechatronics is the synergestic integration of precision mechanics,
electronics, computer and control systems to build intelligent machines.
Mechatronics and mechatronic engineers are essential for any industry of modern
engineering. This Summer School provided useful and recent knowledge about
mechatronics and its application. Most participants were faculty, students and
engineers from Vietnam.
Modules on this site
I taught a short course in this Summer School comprised of three modules, the
first on digital simulation of mechatronics systems, the second on
sinusoidal-input describing function (SIDF) methods for analysis of mechatronics
systems, and the third on SIDF methods for design. The handouts (including
overheads) are available below for anyone interested.
